What is Page Guard? #
PageGuard is a powerful security feature designed to protect your money pages from unauthorized access. When running cloaked campaigns, there is always a risk that users, bots, or even ad reviewers may bypass the cloaking system and attempt to access your money page URL directly. If this happens, your landing page could be exposed to unwanted visitors, leading to potential campaign disruptions, manual reviews, or even account bans.
With PageGuard enabled, only visitors who have passed through TrafficShield’s filtering system will be able to access your money page. Any direct attempts to access your landing page URL will be blocked, ensuring that your campaign remains secure.
Why Use PageGuard? #
- Prevent Direct Access to Money Pages – Ensure that only users who have gone through your cloaked redirect can reach your final landing page.
- Protect Against Competitor Spying – Block competitors from discovering your landing pages and copying your campaigns.
- Avoid Detection by Ad Reviewers – Prevent ad network moderators from bypassing your cloaking system and exposing your setup.
- Ensure Traffic Filtering – Only high-quality, authorized traffic that passes through TrafficShield’s cloaking and filtering rules will reach your money page.
- Improve Campaign Security – Add an extra layer of protection to keep your funnels and monetization pages safe from unauthorized visitors.
How PageGuard Works #
When a visitor clicks on your ad, they are first redirected through TrafficShield, where traffic filtering is applied. If the visitor meets your pre-set filtering rules (e.g., passing bot detection, IP whitelisting, behavioral checks), they are allowed to continue to your money page.
However, without PageGuard, someone could copy and paste your money page URL and access it directly, bypassing TrafficShield entirely. This is a major risk, as it exposes your campaigns to ad reviewers, spy tools, and competitors.
PageGuard Prevents This by: #
- Generating a unique session identifier for each visitor that passes through TrafficShield.
- Blocking any direct visits to your money page if the visitor does not have a valid session.
- Redirecting unauthorized visitors to an alternative page, an error message, or a blank page based on your settings.
How to Enable PageGuard #
To activate PageGuard, you must implement a money page protection code on your landing page. This ensures that only traffic processed through TrafficShield can access the page.
Steps to Enable PageGuard: #
- Go to the TrafficShield Dashboard and navigate to the PageGuard settings.
- Copy the Money Page Protection Code provided in your dashboard.
- Paste the Code on Your Money Page – Insert the script in the
<head>
or<body>
section of your money page. - Save and Deploy – Ensure the code is properly saved and published on your site.
- Test Access Restrictions – Try accessing your money page directly. You should be blocked unless you have passed through TrafficShield.
Best Practices for Using PageGuard #
- Regularly test PageGuard by attempting to access your money page directly to confirm that unauthorized traffic is blocked.
- Ensure your TrafficShield settings are correctly configured to allow only your targeted audience through.
- Use PageGuard in combination with IP filtering and other cloaking features for maximum security.
- Update your money page protection code periodically to stay ahead of detection algorithms.
By implementing PageGuard, you add a crucial layer of security to your funnel, ensuring that only filtered and authorized visitors reach your money pages. This not only protects your campaigns but also helps maintain long-term ad account compliance while maximizing conversions.
